H&M to come to Cyprus next year

The chief executive of popular retail-clothing company H&M – known for its fast-fashion clothing for men, women, teenagers and children – has confirmed that they will open up shops in Cyprus in next year.

In an interview with the Financial Times, CEO Karl-Johan Persson said H&M would be expanding its physical presence by opening in South Africa this autumn with plans in the pipeline to also enter New Zealand, Cyprus and Puerto Rico next year.

It has 3,675 stores and will open another 240 in the fourth quarter.
According to reports in Kathimerini, H&M are already in advanced talks with Shacolas Group to open up their first store at the Shacolas Tower on Ledra Street in Nicosia.

The same sources also mention talks with Atterbury – which recently acquired the Mall of Cyprus and the Mall of Engomi – who are also interested in taking on the popular Swedish company.
